We stopped at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. We checked out an exhibit of satellite photography Leah was interested in and touched a moon rock. (Touched a moon rock!!) I also took a picture of the Spirit of Saint Louis, Lindbergh's plane. Nan's father Earle was a flying buff who was living on Long Island when Lindbergh was getting ready to make his attempt to cross the Atlantic. His plane got stuck in the mud and had to be pushed out by the spectators. Earle was one of the spectators who helped, and he liked to say his fingerprints were on the Spirit when he'd visit the museum.
