Shortly after we started, I figured out how to take videos with my camera. The fact that I was comfortable taking videos while in motion was a testament to how quickly I got used to being on the Segway. It was literally as easy as walking. We went to the top parking lot of the Muny ("Segway Speedway") and were turned loose to play. We started on the beginner setting with a max speed of 6 MPH. After we'd been riding for a while, we were allowed out of turtle mode and could get up to a top speed of 12 MPH. Nan got so comfortable she would run with no hands sometimes. I didn't realize the camera had audio. Good thing I was behaving. It was a remarkable experience. I think it's the closest you can get to flying. You don't have to think about what you're doing. You're independent of gravity and the wind. You don't "operate" any controls. There's no internal combustion engine roaring. I think it's something everyone should try if they have the chance.
