The USS Constellation, a Civil War era Sloop-of-War. When I saw her from the car, my heart went pitter pat because I thought she was the USS Constitution. Then when I read in the harbor map that she was the Constellation, I assumed she was the frigate Constellation, a contemporary of the Constitution. At least I was in good company. Apparently she was originally touted as the older Constellation when the city fathers were promoting her and the controversy about her identity is still rolling along.
